Locally Created “Splatz” Pop Up at Wakeman Town Farm’s Sustainable Goods Eco Market July 25, 2021 James Bairaktaris Splatz inventor and One Fun company co-founder Alli DiVincenzo stands with her son Will (right) and assistant Uzi Greenman (left) at their booth at the Sustainable Goods Eco Market at Wakeman Town Farm. Splatz are small biodegradable shells with hand soap inside of them; to get to the soap, the user must “splat” the ball between their fingers. DiVincenzo came up with the idea of the popping balls of hand soap after her son was hesitant to washing his hands, yet enjoyed the sensation of slimes and other tactile toys. With the help of two Harvard scientists, DiVincenzo developed and launched Splatz - with the containers of popping hand soap selling quickly since then. Currently manufactured in Massachusetts, DiVincenzo is looking forward to bringing the company to a more local space in Norwalk.
