Note from the Editor: “We will still wake up tomorrow as Westporters”
Note from the Editor
As the doors to local polling places open right this very minute, I’d be remiss to forget about the negativity that election season brings with it. We are deciding the future of our community with each vote that we cast; the immensity of that isn’t lost on many Westporters.
Regardless of what happens today - we will all wake up tomorrow as Westporters. Not winners or losers, not liberals or conservatives - Westporters.
Cast your vote today with confidence, and remember that regardless of what position a person may be running for or what party they represent: they’re still your neighbor, and they’re still my neighbor, and your words and actions will last far longer than today’s election.
In the past year I’ve been hyperstimulated with the “news and views” of Westport. Some of it good, some of it bad - all of it part of our community’s story. Kindness has always been the common theme in each of those stories - whether it be neighbors banning together to help another, or the simplicity of a sunset after a hard day. I’d like to continue that story with you.
Go vote, and go forward with kindness. We will still wake up tomorrow morning as Westporters.
In partnership,
Jaime B.
