Sunrise Rotary Hosts The Great Rotary Raffle for Super Bowl LV; Prizes Up to $1,000
In another example of a pandemic schedule change, the Westport Sunrise Rotary faces the cancellation of their largest fundraising events of the year - the Great Duck Race on the Saugatuck River, and their annual Wine Tasting Gala.
However the Sunrisers have announced a new way to support local non-profits while giving out a different type of stimulus payment: the Great Rotary Raffle for the Super Bowl LV.
How it Works:
Raffle tickets are sold online for $50 each.
Random numbers will be assigned by President Elect Richard Jaffe on February 5th at 10:00 AM at the Westport Public Library. The drawing of the numbers will be witnessed by Library director William Harmer, and Bruce Paul, Vice President of the Sunrisers.
Lucky winners will have to match their raffle ticket’s numbers to the score of each quarter of the Super Bowl game on Sunday. If their number matches the final score for the first, second, or third quarter - they’ll win $500. The one who matches the final score for the game will win $1,000.
50% of the money raised from the fundraiser will go to local charities, while the other 50% will cover the cost of prizes for winners. The Westport Sunrise Rotary, founded in 1988, supports local non profit organizations and community services, with their members volunteer for both local and international humanitarian aid sites.
