The production crew from See Factor, Woodside NY arrived yesterday to construct the giant screen which will begin showing a series of family films, classics and new films again this year at the Imperial Avenue parking lot next to the Westport Women's Club.
According to Senior Director Alban Sardzinski of See Factor it takes a crew of 10 people to build the massive structure 43’ up in the air to support the 50’x20’ cinema screen. This is as big and in many cases larger than most indoor multiplex screens in our area.
The projection system includes a a state of the art cinema projector giving the highest quality crisp image identical to what is used in first run theaters that show blockbusters in chains like AMC, Regal and Bowtie theater chains.
Technical production and projection is managed by Digital Media Systems.
The first film, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, will be shown tonight at 7:30 PM with "doors opening" at 6:30 for tailgating.
This film is being co-sponsored by the Westport Public Library. The Princess Diaries 2 is being shown in support of BOOKED for the Evening, where Shonda Rhimes is being honored. It also coincidentally stars another Westporter Anne Hathaway.
