The rain Friday night wasn't the only thing dampening Wreckers Fans in their match-up with number 1 ranked powerhouse St. Joseph's of Trumbull, who prevailed, 35-14.

The Wreckers fought to the end, getting near the end zone twice in the second half but failed to get across. Quarterback Ryan Thompson and receiver Nick Armentano gave the fans bright moments by providing both Staples touchdown's.

The Wreckers travel to Cheshire next Friday and return home to face Wilbur Cross on October 1st.
