The Susan Fund, a Fairfield County based scholarship program for cancer survivors who aspire to pursue higher education, is still accepting applications for 2021.

The fund helps students who are Fairfield County residents, have been diagnosed with cancer at some time in their lives, and plan to attend an accredited college or training program. Awards are based on academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.

The fund was established in memory of Susan Davis Lloyd, a 1980 Staples High School graduate, from Westport who dreamed of attending college despite her cancer diagnosis and treatments. Since its inception, The Susan Fund has distributed more than $1.8 million in scholarship money.
