The CDC recommends everyone six months of age and older get vaccinated. The Health District will vaccinate individuals aged 3 and older. Director of Clinical Services Vanessa Hurta stated: “Due to a mild flu season last year, there is concern that low immunity could lead to an active and early flu season this year. The CDC says it is ideal to have the flu vaccine before the end of this month.”
The Westport Weston Health District has a limited supply of high dose, and standard influenza vaccine. The vaccinations are also available at the Health District offices, 180 Bayberry Lane, Westport. The high dose flu vaccine is available for persons 65 years and older.
