Staples Players Radio Presents: A Christmas Carol, tonight at 6
Adapting to the changes in the world amidst a pandemic, the Staples Players will be performing live on-air tonight starting at 6:00 PM on WWPT Radio. The actresses and actors will be presenting their take on A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. The series of live radio broadcasts, including The Wizard of Oz and It’s a Wonderful Life, have been given high praise by listeners who, despite a pandemic, are still able to enjoy live theater by the widely renowned high school acting group.
Although not in the Staples High School auditorium, families are able to get into the holiday spirit while gathering around the speakers by listening to the stream live from the WWPT website. Department of Human Services Seeks Donations to Keep Neighbors Warm
The Westport Department of Human Services announced that they are “currently accepting donations for the "Westport Warm-Up Fund" to help residents in need to heat their homes this winter.”
“According to Human Services Finance Manager Susan Stefenson, the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the need for additional assistance for many Westport households.
“This winter will be particularly challenging for households facing unstable employment, food insecurity, and financial vulnerability,” said Stefenson. “Last season, community donations helped over 250 residents to warm their homes during a relatively mild winter. Unfortunately, the number of households in need is growing due to the pandemic.”
The Westport Warm-Up program is funded entirely by donations and managed by the Town's Department of Human Services to provide heating assistance to Westport's most vulnerable residents. Program recipients must be Westport residents, have a demonstrated financial need, and provide proper documentation to qualify.

Frimmer Family Hanukkah: A Time of Light
The Frimmer family celebrating the third night of Hanukkah last evening. The Frimmers, residents of Weston, shared their celebration of the Festival of Lights knowing that light is needed in the world right now. Ben Frimmer (behind the camera) is a Coleytown Middle School Theatrical Arts teacher and Volunteer Westport EMS Crew Chief.
