News 12 Features Westport’s True Snow Day

News 12 featured Westport kids yesterday on what was a true snow day for them, while a remote learning day for many others. Westport was one of few districts in Fairfield County, and the tri-state area, who made the call to allow snow days without any remote learning, allowing students the day off to enjoy outside in the snow. According to the report, local parents - and kids - were pleased with the decision as they slid down the hill at Kings Highway Elementary School yesterday.

Westport Police Department hosts Food & Supply Collection at Imperial Parking Lot Today
The Westport Police Department will be hosting a food & essential supplies drive today from noon until 4:30 at the Imperial Avenue Parking Lot.
All non-perishable food donations will be donated to Homes with Hope. All supplies - such as toiletries, paper products, and cleaning supplies - will be donated to the NAACP Norwalk Chapter.
Sushi on a Snow Day
The opening of Church Lane for snow plows also opened the road for customers of Pink Sumo japanese restaurant. Staff said they were happy to have the road open again, which helps with take-out orders. The sushi bar couldn’t offer outdoor seating due to the temperature-sensitive foods served, so they rely heavily on take-out business like tonight’s.
