Carolyn F. Kenworthy, 95, Died; Former Westport Guidance Counselor
Carolyn F. Kenworthy, born Miriam Carolyn Frey, 95, of Carlisle, died peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday February 9, 2022 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle.
Carolyn was born in Carlisle on December 5, 1926 to Miriam Anna (Dum) and Jacob Mark Frey. She was a graduate of Carlisle High School (1944) and Shippensburg State Teachers' College (1948), playing second violin in both school orchestras.
She taught kindergarten in Hershey, PA (1948-50), Gettysburg (1950-51), and Baltimore, MD (1951-52).
Carolyn and first husband, Robert E. Tiley then moved to Catonsville, MD, where she was president of the woman's club and a young mother. The family moved to Wilton, CT in 1962 where Carolyn served on the Board of Trustees of Wilton Congregational Church and enjoyed flower arranging with the Wilton Garden Club. She taught at Head Start in Norwalk, CT. Earning an MA in Education and 6 year Certificate of Advanced Study from Fairfield University (1973), she was a guidance counselor for Westport, CT schools.
Divorced in 1974, she married (1981) widower George F. Kenworthy, father of three grown children. Retiring from Wilton to Carlisle in 1989, Carolyn enjoyed classical music, journal writing, composing poetry, book club, Bible Study, and travel. She also enjoyed being a homemaker and entertaining.
She served as a church elder at Second Presbyterian Church, on the Clean Air Board, on the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home Board, and with the Carlisle YWCA. Her memberships included: CAR/DAR, P.E.O., Carlisle Travelers Club, Carlisle Civic Club, and the Cumberland County Historical Society.
Carolyn is pre-deceased by George F. Kenworthy, by Robert E. Tiley, and by her brother and sister-in-law Robert M. and Elva F. Frey. Surviving are daughter, Nancy Ann Tiley, son Stephen D. Tiley (Helene "Holly"), and grandchildren Kathleen Dornstadter (Drew), Peter D. Tiley, and Helene C. "Ellie" Tiley. She is also survived by step-children Patricia Costabel, Michael Kenworthy (Pat), Susan Said, four step-grandchildren, Rabiah Curran (Sean), Alex Said, Evan Ireland, Alex Ireland, and their families. Carolyn is also survived by her sister Margaret "Peggy" Ferrell (Rev. Dr. Charles), two nephews (Robert G. Frey and David M. Frey) and three nieces (Ann Lewis, Melissa Ferrell, and Melinda Thompson) and their families.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Dr., Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Dr. Jeff Gibelius as the officiant. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle with a time of fellowship at the church following the burial. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. A visitation will be held at Second Presbyterian Church on Saturday from 10:15 a.m. until the service. Linda Tallent Horn, 79, Died; “a uniquely kind, caring, and lovable person”
Linda Tallent Horn passed away peacefully in January, 2022, in the Yale New Haven Hospital. She was 79.
She leaves behind her sister, Carolyn Tallent of Santa Monica, CA, her loving husband, Charles of East Norwalk, CT, and her extended family of devoted stepchildren, Amanda and Howard, and grandchildren, Marguerite, Charlie, and George.
Linda was born in Houston, TX, where she graduated from the University of St. Thomas. She taught math to young students for several years after graduation then moved to Paris for seven years where she taught English to French students at the Sorbonne. Back in the U.S. she ran the American branch of a French steel company before becoming Vice President for Human Resources at the prestigious consulting firm, the Juran Institute. She was a painstaking gardener and Cordon Bleu cook, who loved to make meals for her family and many friends.
Charles and Linda Horn met in Westport, CT, where they lived for 27 years. Ten more years were spent together in East Norwalk.
Linda will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her. She was a uniquely kind, caring and lovable person.

Stanley Glick, 86, Died; Past Rotary Club President
Stanley Glick, age 86, of Trumbull, passed away on January 15, 2022.
Stanley was born on May 3, 1935 in the Bronx, New York to the late Charles and Jeanne Glick. He graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School and the City University of New York.
He moved to Westport in 1969 where he eventually started a solo Certified Public Accountant practice. Stanley played an active role in the local business community and was a proud member of the Westport Rotary Club, where he previously served as President.
Stanley is survived by his son, Richard Glick; his daughter-in-law, Erin Glick; his daughter, Karen Thomas; his grandchildren Jenny Thomas, Zachary Thomas, and Alexander Glick; his brother Arnie Glick and his sister Elaine Rosen.
He was predeceased by his loving first wife, Adele, and his third wife, Marilyn. He was also predeceased by his sister, Natalie Spilka.
The family would like to express our gratitude to Jenita Bolan Marshall for her compassion and the care she took of Stanley during his final months.

Otis “Jerry” Leslie Smith, 87, Died; Former Westonite, Avid Golfer and Fisherman
Jerry passed away on December 22, 2021, at his home on Marco Island, Fl.
He was born in New York City on September 2, 1934, to Dr. William Leslie Smith and Isabelle Orr. He grew up in the Hartford, CT area. He graduated from Westminster School in Simsbury, CT, and attended Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt, where he met his wife, Gay Nelson. They married in 1958. He went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and was honorably discharged.
He moved to Weston, Connecticut in 1961 and resided there for over thirty years.
Jerry was an executive in the television and entertainment industry, working for the BBC, Twentieth Century Fox, ABC, and World Vision, from which he retired in 1984.
Jerry was an avid golfer and fisherman. After his retirement, he divided his time between Marco Island in Florida, Prouts Neck in Maine, and one of his most favorite places, Middle Dam, a small fishing village on a lake in rural northern Maine.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brother: William Leslie Smith Jr, his son: Bradford and great niece: Zoë.
Jerry is survived by his wife: Gay Smith, his daughter Gigi Schofield, half-sister Susan Smith Rubin, half-brother Clay Smith, his nieces Kimberley, Elizabeth, Abigail, Courtney, and Carly and great nephews: Justin, Jared, Ian, Owen, and great niece Isabelle.
Jerry will be buried next to his mother and brother at the Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk, Maine. There will be a graveside Memorial Service held in the spring for family and close friends.
