Westport Wrecking Ball: Another for High Point Road as #23 Plans for Demolition
An application to demolish the 65-year-old home at 23 High Point Road was filed with the Town of Westport, and the 180 day delay was waived by the Westport Historic District Commission during their July meeting - clearing the way for its demolition. The 1,808 square foot home sits on 1.25 acres of land in a AA zone, and last sold in May for $1.1 million. Prior to the May 2021 sale, the home was purchased in June of 1991 for $405,000 - and was owned by the same family for the following three decades. The home joins two other properties on High Point Road to have demolition signs out on the residential street, with house numbers 34 and 55 also facing the Westport wrecking ball. The property sits on Bermuda Lagoon’s eastern shoreline, with a private dock stretching from the back of the property.
