Westport Public Schools: 45 Cases and 408 in Quarantine Start the Week
COVID-19 case numbers have stabilized in the Westport Public Schools since last week’s 30+ cases. Despite the small rise, the Superintendent described optimism for reopening Staples High School full-time this Thursday, with data showing in-school transmission is less than 1%.
The data was collected by tracking the positive cases of those who had an exposure to someone in the school - of which .006% of the exposed students or staff became COVID-19 positive. The majority of cases and transmission is from out-of-school activities, such as social events or sports.
