All Metro North Railroad Services Remain Suspended
Metro North Railroad services on the New Haven Line remain suspended this afternoon as MTA personnel work rapidly to clear the tracks of debris, pump water from flooded areas, and inspect the system for safety. The Long Island Railroad lines remained mostly untouched, with minimal service disruptions. The NYC subway system is also struggling to get back up and running, as nearly all lines have delays or suspensions.
The MTA Released earlier today: Thousands of MTA employees are engaged in activities across the region to restore train service as quickly as possible in areas where it remains suspended. Crews are pumping water out of flooded subway tunnels, removing debris including downed trees and vegetation from subway and commuter rail tracks, operating non-passenger trains on Metro-North lines to inspect tracks and identify areas where tracks have been washed out, and attend to storm-related power outages.
Metro-North Railroad service remains suspended. The New York City Subway and Long Island Rail Road are operating with segments of service being restored as crews correct operating conditions. New York City Buses are operating with near normal service levels but more than 20 detours in effect as of 8 a.m. due to roadway conditions. Access-A-Ride is operating but reporting delays due to heavy traffic conditions.

The Show Must Go On: Westport Country Playhouse Floods; Donations Needed for the 90 Year Old Institution
The Westport Country Playhouse fell victim to Ida’s floodwaters overnight, with rain pouring into the structure’s lower levels - where many of their office spaces and artist dressing and production rooms are held. The non-profit has started a fundraiser to help repair the damage done, and to pay for rental trailers for upcoming guests and talent. The Playhouse has been presenting a live Stars on Stage concert series this week, which is being recorded for a national broadcast. From the Westport Country PlayhouseThe Playhouse suffered immense damage last night as Hurricane Ida swept through Westport, right in the middle of our week-long series of Stars on Stage concerts being recorded for national TV broadcast. Our artist dressing rooms, hallways, production office, mechanical and boiler room, wardrobe, laundry, and other spaces on the lower level and basement all experienced severe flooding. It will be days before these areas are dry and sanitized. Any gift that is within your means will help us recover the costs associated with both damage repair and the additional expense of renting trailers and other temporary spaces for the artists we’ll be welcoming for this evening's concert with Brandon Victor Dixon. As always, the Playhouse is so grateful for the support of our community.
