Manhattan’s Freedom Tower, One World Trade Center, was visible during a couple of minute window of time this evening from Westport’s shoreline between Cockenoe Island and Seymour’s Rock. Rosh Hashanah Begins over Westport

Some crowds remained at Compo Beach while others headed for home as Rosh Hashanah began at sunset tonight. Westport Public Schools will be closed tomorrow in observance of the Jewish new year celebration that will continue through Wednesday’s sunset.
