Dogs Days are Back as Beaches Open to Local Pups
Saturday’s Compo Beach was for the dogs today as dozens of canines and their companions wandered the shoreline for fetch or a jog, while others shook off the water from the first swim of the season.
Perfect Weather for Westport PBA Car Show
The Westport Police Benevolent Association hosted their annual car show today at the Saugatuck Train Station’s parking lot in support of the non-profit’s missions. Hundreds of cars joined the show as community members milled around to view the classic hot rods and sleek antiques. Prizes were awarded the best of the best while all funding went towards groups such as the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Special Olympics, and Veterans and Families of Fallen Officers.
Westport COVID-19 Cases Up 16; State Hospitalizations Up 3, Positivity Rate 2.16%
The Westport-Weston Health District reported 16 new COVID-19 case for Westport since yesterday. The State’s daily test positivity rate was up to 2.16% while hospitalizations were up 3 patients.
Westport total positive or probable cases: 2,082 cases.
Westport total COVID-19 Deaths: 32 deaths.
State Daily Test Positivity: 2.16% [up from 1.26%]
State Hospitalizations: 237 patients [+3]
