Ridgefield Tigers Maul Staples Wreckers 71-62
There seemed to be two different boys varsity basketball games Saturday night at Staples High School. The first half was the game when the Wreckers were basically going basket for basket with Ridgefield. Then there was the second half - a very different game. Shortly into the third quarter Staples was down by 4 points. A little more than one minute later, the Tigers led by 10 points - and never looked back. Ridgefield's offense took control while their defense held the Wreckers scoring effort in-check. The Wreckers, to their credit, never let up and employed a fourth quarter full-court press which proved to no avail, and at the final buzzer the Tigers led 71-62. Ryan Phelps and Cody Sale led the Wreckers scorers with 13 points each.
