Westporter Wins USA its First Medal as Marino Takes home Silver; “We are so proud of you”
The United States of America celebrated its first medal tonight at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics as Westporters celebrated one of their own, Julia Marino: the olympian who made it possible.
Marino took home Silver tonight during her slopestyle event with a score of 87.68 points, right behind New Zealand's Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and their score of 92.88.
Live video of the elated Marino family watching their family member win for her country was shown across the world tonight. The Town of Westport official social media account celebrated the community member as Americans celebrate the snowboarder from Westport, Connecticut.

Hi! My Name Is Miles And I'm Looking For My Fur-Ever Home Can You Help Me Find It?
My name is Casper and my sister's name is Ra. We are looking too!
Our owners gave us a home when we were 6 weeks old but then they lost their home and had to give us up when they went into a shelter. They tried but could not find us a good home where we would be loved and so we have been in a shelter ever since. We want to find our fur-ever home and in return we will give you many years of love.
Miles will say Hello as soon as he sees you and expects you to begin placing with him immediately, if you can keep up with him!
You can see how wonderful we are at Petco,1850 Post Rd. East just across from Shake Shack in Westport from 10 AM to 3 PM on Sunday, February 6th. Come visit us along with several other beautiful kitties who want their second chance to be happy, loving pets for you and your family.
