News 12: “Wrong-way crash kills 2 on Route 8; Westport Mother Remembered”
Friends and relatives of a mother from Westport who was killed in a crash in Bridgeport Sunday are mourning her loss.
Monica Wilson was a mother of three who grew up in the colonial village neighborhood in Norwalk. She had recently moved to Westport.
Police say she was driving on Route 8 near Exit 2 when a van going the wrong way struck her.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash. Wilson and one other person were killed. Five others were injured.
Wilson’s friend James Dupree remembered her as a “beautiful person.”
“She always opened her arms. She always said ‘hello.’ She never had attitude about anything. She was special. She was just very special,” said Dupree.
News 12 was told that Wilson’s two sons were pulled from her vehicle and are expected to survive.
