Fiona’s Disappearing Island Appears at Sunset
The small island off of Westport’s coastline was visible this evening as the Western sun allowed bright pastels to anyone who forded the waterway to get to the small grassy land. WestportLocal.com.
Agnes “Aggie” Veno, 67, Died; Staples Graduate, Artistic
Agnes "Aggie" Veno, age 67, of Westport, the loving daughter of Marie Veno and the late Andrew J. Veno, Sr., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Born in Norwalk, she attended Staples High School and worked as a manager at Pepperidge Farm.
Aggie was passionate about everything arts and crafts and loved doing craft fairs in Fairfield County. She was especially good at crocheting. Aggie was a great cook and baker and enjoyed the many gatherings with her extended family. She was an avid volunteer at St. Luke Church in Westport and was always willing to lend a hand.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister, Joann (Steve) Porch; her godson, Nicholas Vena, Jr.; her many cousins, including Sadye Bella Bustillo, who had a special place in her heart. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Andrew J. Veno, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Church in Westport. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery in Greens Farms.

Westport COVID-19 Cases Up 9; State Positivity Rate Down, Hospitalizations Up
The State Department of Public Health reported 9 more COVID-19 cases in Westport over the past day. The State positivity rate was down to 10.54% while 348 people remain hospitalized around the State.
