Staples Family Goes All Out for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with "Pink Out" Night

The Staples High School Varsity Cheerleaders lead the Pink Out effort for breast cancer awareness at the Staples-Norwalk game on Friday night.

There was pink everywhere - from the stands to the field - with many Wreckers joining the effort with pink tape, socks , gloves, towels and who knows what else. The cheerleaders, known for giving 100% at every game, took it up a notch joining with future cheerleaders for a brilliant half-time show that had the crowd roaring their approval. The girls even ordered T-shirts with a bright pink "S" especially for this event. Breast cancer awareness month began on October 1st and ends on October 31st.

Staples Scores Big Quarter-Final Win In FCIAC Tournament

The Wreckers defeated Brien McMahon of Norwalk at home on Friday with a 3-0 victory

The Wreckers defeated Brien McMahon at home on Friday with a 3-0 shut-out of Brien McMahon of Norwalk.

Annabel Edwards scored in the first half with the Wreckers first goal and assisted on their second goal with a beautiful pass to Evelyn Chudowsky to put them firmly in the lead, 2-0 up at the half. Staples continued to dominate, especially on defense in the second period.

On her first Varsity game after being called up from Junior Varsity, Freshman Freya Harvey came off the bench and scored to make it 3-0 to Staples. 

The Wreckers next face Greenwich in their semi-final game on Tuesday at 7:00 pm playing at the neutral site, Fairfield Warde.
