3 State Tournament Games & 3 Shut-Outs For Staples Girls Soccer

File photo by J.C. Martin For WestportLocalPress.com

Number three seed Staples faced number two seed Glastonbury last night and once again Staples defense shut down their opponents while the not-so-secret weapon of the Chudowsky sisters Evelyn and Natalie packed a big offensive punch

Coach Barry Beattie said, "Staples played and beat a great Glastonbury team tonight in Naugatuck HS. From a strong defensive foundation Staples built from the back and smashed in a 1-0 lead from Natalie Chudowsky right in the stroke of half time. Second half Glastonbury started strong but Evelyn Chudowsky doubled Staples lead with a great counter attack and finish. The third goal came from Natalie as she drilled in a free kick from 20 yards out."

Staples will face top seed Chesire in the final to be played at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford on Sunday at 4:00 PM.
