Saugatuck Snow brings Christmas Spirit
The North Pole Express Mailbox at Saugatuck Center was stuffed with letters to Santa as snow began to fall over the Saugatuck community. The mailbox is accepting letters right up until Christmas, though any letters mailed prior to December 20 may even receive a letter back from the big man himself, according to local elves. Perfect Day for a Swim at Compo
Two beachgoers continued a Summer tradition as they took the plunge into the chilled Long Island Sound off of Compo Beach this afternoon, ahead of our first snow of the season. With water temperatures at about 50 degrees and air temperatures closer to 34 degrees, the nearly 60 degree deficit between an August dip and a December dunk was surely felt. WestportLocal.com photo
One Hospitalized after Car Rolls on Riverside Ave Overnight
Shortly before 1:30 this morning, first responders were dispatched to the area of Riverside Avenue between Sylvan Lane and Treadwell Avenue for the reported car accident. First responders found two vehicles involved, with one Jeep pickup truck (pictured) rolled onto the driver’s side. Firefighters assisted the driver from the wreckage, according to their social media update, with Westport EMS then transporting the person to a nearby hospital. No other information has been released.
