Bridgeport Community Mourns Death of 14 Year Joshua Roman; Honor Student, Star Basketball Player

The Bridgeport Community is in mourning after the death of a 14 year old boy.

Joshua Roman died last Monday after the stolen car he was driving rolled-over just after 8:00 AM. The vehicle was reported as going 99 miles per hour just seconds before the vehicle lost control on Route 1 in Fairfield, according to crash investigators. The boy’s family urges the public to withhold judgement of Roman, according to News 12 Connecticut. “His aunt says the negative influence of others lead him to make a bad choice, and that one tragic moment should not define his whole life.” (News 12).

Joshua Roman was described as a star basketball player, and an honor student at Kolbe Cathedral High School. Friends said he was “a respectful, loving & caring person. He was an overall goofball full of love & life to give that left this earth too soon.” His funeral was held on Friday, with a GoFundMe created for services in his home of Puerto Rico.
