Community Prepares for Snowfall; 3-5 Inches Expected

The National Weather Service, NYC has announced a Winter Weather Advisory for the region as several inches of snow are expected to fall over the next 12 hours. Temperatures and wind will remain seasonable and calm, however heavy wind gusts are forecast for Friday evening - with gusts of 25 MPH possible. Local schools have already declared the day a Snow Day, with no at-home learning to worry about.

Winter Weather Advisory: Effective 12:00 AM Friday - 12:00 PM Friday.

  • Light to moderate snow is forecast, with heavier snowfall taking place between 3 and 8 in the morning. 
  • Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches is expected. 
  • Travel will be difficult, with concern for NYC and coastal communities of possible black ice underneath snow as temperatures drop overnight. 
  • Temperatures will remain around 30 degrees overnight and reaching towards 35 degrees tomorrow, with wind chills closer to 20 degree
