Firefighters Investigate Odors of Gas on Pequot Trail, Blind Brook Road

The Westport Fire Department has been investigating numerous complaints from residents in the Pequot Trail, Blind Brook Road neighborhoods of a heavy odor of natural gas.

The first calls came in just after 9:00 AM, prompting several pieces of apparatus to respond to the scene, and Fairfield Fire Department to be dispatched into Westport for additional coverage.

No cause has been found yet at the 10:00 AM hour, however reports said the odor began shifting towards the Norwalk border. Residents are reminded to contact the fire department for any suspected gas leak or smells of gas.
