Artist Dale Najarian Exhibits Art in Westport Book Shop’s Drew Friedman Art Place

The Westport Book Shop is pleased to welcome artist  Dale Najarian as guest exhibitor at the Book Shop’s Drew Friedman Art Place. Dale is showing several of her newest abstract landscapes on wood panels. Dale  works in several mediums, including watercolor, acrylics, mixed media, and oils. She also has  a passion for photography. She says that documenting her experiences is an important part  of her creative process and a source of inspiration for much of her work. “I am obsessed with shadows and their relationship to light. My work is a translation of  everyday scenes and objects using color, light and form. I work from life and in my studio  using my photographs as a guide. Once I capture the essence of a painting, I abandon the  actual image and create from within to develop an abstracted painting the viewer can identify  with. I feel privileged to paint and show my work,” said Dale.

Dale Najarian is an internationally recognized artist. She received her BFA from Moore  College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, and worked for over fifteen years as a Graphic  Designer and Art Director at various design firms and advertising agencies in New York City,  Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Dale is also an advocate and philanthropist. She received the 2019 Distinguished  Alumni Award from Moore College of Art and Design for her active role in using art to connect  with a larger audience. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Norwalk Art Space,  which provides free art education and experiences for Norwalk students. She is also on the  Executive Board of the Artists Collective of Westport, and is a Board member and Project  Manager for #UNLOADusa.org, a nonprofit organization using the arts to drive the  conversation about gun violence in America. She is also an active member of the Greenwich  Arts Council and the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County.

Dale works in her studio in Bridgeport, CT at Metro Art Studios, and shows her work in  curated gallery exhibitions and juried shows. You can see more of Dale’s work on her website,  at www.dalenajarian.com
