Markus Family Hanukkah: New to Town, Grateful for Friends

New Westport resident Rachel Markus shares her story of not even having their menorah yet after their move. However rescue came in the form of local friends delivering menorah and candles - allowing light to fill their home.

“This is our first Hanukkah in Westport! As newly arrived from NYC--and unable to see my parents who love to supply the Hanukkah gear every year - we were scrambling last minute. New friends came to our rescue with a menorah and candles. The welcoming of the Westport community and new friends here, and the boundless love and support of a sibling who after ten years finally succeeded in getting us to move here, have been the shining lights in this challenging year of change and transition. Believe it or not, the Hanukkah tradition in our household is our daughter's perfect lip-syncing to Jack Black's "Oh Hanukkah" song. Videos available upon request!
