Fitness and Health Day Set for May 1; 5K Run and Classes Scheduled Throughout the Day

The Westport Downtown Association is pleased to reprise the Downtown Fitness & Health Day, aimed at supporting our local health and exercise businesses and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all Westport residents. 

New this year, Fleet Feet will kick off the day by hosting a safe and welcoming 5k run at 10:00 am. Dave Wright, owner of Fleet Feet remarks “ Please join us for the inaugural Westport Fitness 5k race in downtown Westport. Registration is capped so sign up early at www.fleetfeet.com/training.” 

WDA has also partnered with many leading local fitness studios including Joyride, Pure Barre, Row House, Elliptica, Intensity, Physique57, Club Pilates, Saugatuck Rowing Club, The Dance Collective, Stretch Lab, Kaia Yoga and the Westport Weston YMCA to give participants fun and rigorous outdoor exercise classes between 10am and 4pm on Main Street. 

There will be a lot to see and learn throughout the day - if you are pondering how to up your fitness game, this is the best place to see options all on one block! Other health and wellness partners will include Franny’s Farmacy, RESTORE Cryo, Sparkly Soul, Wisdom and Youth MedSpa, Embrace Orthodontics, New England Hemp Farm, Tap Strength, Organic Krush and our year round supporters Andersen Renewal. This is a great chance to be proactive about your wellness heading into the warmer months ahead. This event is also supported by Wildflower Land Management, Manna Toast and David Adam Realty

Randy Herbertson, President of WDA added “we’re thrilled to support the health and wellness industry in Westport and to continue to safely welcome visitors, shoppers and dinners to downtown.” 

All classes are set up as outdoor exhibition areas for all to see as they are walking down Main Street. Each studio will be recruiting its own members following COVID-19 requirements and gym policies, so unfortunately walk ups are not permitted. If you’d like to join in, please contact the studios directly for details. Whether you participate or observe, you are sure to love the energy and fun you witness from the range of classes and demonstrations presented. 

As always, please remember to practice social spaciousness and wear your masks. The WDA booth will have spare masks available and hand sanitizer is available around the event .
