Westport Lights Up Blue to Celebrate the Community while Supporting Children’s Charity Good News OnlyCommunity Feb 11 Written By James Bairaktaris View fullsize Last night Westport was lit up blue by small luminaries placed in front of local homes and businesses in the community. The social media-driven effort was started by “Westport Moms” founders Megan Rutstein and Melissa Post, in collaboration with Ali Dorfman of Purpose 2 Purchase, in order to show appreciation for Westport. Participants were able to purchase a luminary, or several, for $10 each. Volunteers prepared the luminaries for last night’s celebration of Westport, while all funds collected went to (filling in the blanks), a non-profit organization that provides meals to children over weekends, when not supported by school food services.
