Metro North Adds 4:53 Express Train from Westport to Yankees Stadium Today - Sunday for Red Sox Games

Metro North announced that they will be running an express Yankee Clipper train to Yankees Stadium this weekend in honor of the rivalry between the Bronx Bombers and the Boston Red Sox, who play each day this weekend after 7:00 PM. The train leaves Westport at 4:53 PM today, Saturday, and Sunday and arrives at Yankees Stadium one hour and fifteen minutes later.

  • 4:53 PM - Departing Westport

  • 6:08 PM - Arriving Yankees Stadium

The Yankees are offering an exclusive section at the stadium for those who are fully vaccinated, saying: Seats in Fully Vaccinated Seating Sections will be sold at full capacity with no physical distancing between other seats in the Section. Guests with tickets in Fully Vaccinated Seating Sections who are 16 years and older must present proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter Yankee Stadium. Guests 15 years and younger, accompanied by a Fully Vaccinated adult, will NOT be required to provide proof of a COVID-19 full vaccination (or a negative COVID-19 test).

One of the most heated rivalries in sports returns to Yankee Stadium this weekend, and Metro-North Railroad is marking the series by adding service to ensure fans can cheer on the Bronx Bombers as they take on the Boston Red Sox in night games at 7:05 p.m. Friday, 7:15 p.m. Saturday and 7:08 p.m. Sunday. Extra trains to deliver fans will run on the New Haven and Hudson lines.  

“Metro-North is the fastest and easiest way to get to Yankee Stadium,” said Cathy Rinaldi, Metro-North President. “By adding extra service, we can ensure that all fans make it for the first pitch and cheer on their team for what I’m sure will be some of the most exciting games of the season. Go Yankees!” 

On the New Haven Line, Metro-North will operate extra “Yankee Clipper Trains To The Game” from both New Haven and Stamford directly to the Yankees Stadium/E 153rd St station before the game, with trains returning to Connecticut after the last out.   

The New Haven train departs at 4:07 p.m., stops at West Haven, Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Westport, South Norwalk, Darien, Noroton Heights, Stamford, Greenwich, Rye, Larchmont and New Rochelle, then runs express to the stadium, where it arrives at 6:08 p.m. 

The Stamford train departs at 5:31 p.m., makes all local stops to Mt. Vernon East and arrives at the stadium at 6:30 p.m.  Customers may also ride other New Haven Line trains which transfer at Harlem/125th St station for trains to and from Yankees/ E 153rd St station. 

The Hudson Line “Yankee Clipper Train” departs Poughkeepsie at 4:43 p.m., stops at New Hamburg, Beacon, Cold Spring, Garrison, Peekskill, Cortlandt and Croton-Harmon, then operates express to the stadium, where it arrives at 6:22 p.m.  Extra stops will also be added at Yankees/E 153rd St station to all Poughkeepsie express and Croton-Harmon local trains before and after the game. 

Harlem Line customers can take the train to Harlem E. 125th St station for shuttle service to and from the Yankees E. 153rd St station. Full Metro-North schedules can be found here. Fans can also take the MTA to the game with convenient service on subways, buses and paratransit.
