MoCA Announces Summer Open Call

Press Release

MoCA Westport is pleased to announce its first Summer Open Call, a juried exhibition open to all emerging, mid-career and established visual artists over the age of 18.

The submission deadline is Friday, May 21. The exhibition will be on view to the public from June 25 – August 21, 2021.

Max Teicher and Emily White of Gagosian Gallery, NYC, will be MoCA Westport's distinguished jurists and curators for this year’s exhibition. Artists will be selected to show within a group exhibition in MoCA Westport’s galleries. All mediums will be considered, and there are no size limitations to the entries. Artists are required to submit digital image samples of 5–10 works of art, as well as a resumé and brief artist statement.

Ruth Mannes, MoCA Westport’s Executive Director, stated, “MoCA Westport welcomes artists from all stages of their career and locations to submit a cohesive body of work for consideration into MoCA’s Summer Open Call Group Exhibition. There is no specific theme in this open call, but the jurists may choose artists and works that intuitively thread materials, handling and themes to organically create a comprehensive group exhibition.”
