FDA Announces Plan to Approve Pfizer Vaccine, Beginning United States Vaccinations as Early as Monday

The FDA announced plans today to approve the Pfizer vaccine for use in the United States, following several other countries and paving the way for the vaccinations of millions of Americans. The Press Release described their working with Pfizer-BioNTech to begin vaccinations as soon as possible, saying “the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has informed the sponsor that it will rapidly work toward finalization and issuance of an emergency use authorization” (FDA Press Release)
