UPS Sends Seasonal Helpers to Westport

Westporters looking for the usual brown UPS delivery truck, or anyone driving on Imperial Avenue, may see something different. The lower Imperial Avenue parking lot has been turned into a temporary shipping hub to assist with the influx of holiday packages, and those packages may be delivered by seasonal helpers in their own cars. According to a September Press Release, “UPS (NYSE: UPS) announced today that it expects to hire over 100,000 seasonal employees to support the anticipated annual increase in package volume that will begin in October 2020 and continue through January 2021.” Employees who are delivering packages can be identified by vests or other visible UPS uniforms.
