Flash Flood Warning Continues: Multiple Cars Stuck in Water; One Rescued from Stream

As a flash flood warning continues, saturated ground and heavy deluges of rain are making for a dangerous situation for motorists and pedestrians this morning.

Multiple vehicles have been reported as stuck in high waters on several Westport roads - and one person was reported as being rescued from a flooding stream.

Both local and State roads are affected, as high waters covering roadways can be seen on Colony Road, Greens Farms Road, sections of Route 1, and downtown streets.

A list of impassable roads has not been released yet, however motorists should expect many road closures and possible flooding. If you encounter large pooled areas or flooding, especially in low lying areas, do not attempt to drive through it. If possible, stay home until waters can recede.
