Rental Truck Strikes Compo Road South Railroad Overpass

A Penske rental truck, more than 13 feet tall, hit the Metro North Overpass over Compo Road South before noon today. The overpass has signage on both sides that state its 11’8” clearance.

The truck continued to drive another 100 feet past the bridge, stopping at the entrance to Vani Court with the entire roof of the truck’s cargo box cut off and on the road behind.

Westport Police, Metro North Police, and towing personnel were on scene to clear the roadway of debris and the truck.
