Obituary
Arthur Powers Jr, 60, of Easton, Connecticut died on February 15, 2021 while enjoying his passion for skiing in Stowe, Vermont. Art, as everyone knew him, leaves behind his beloved partner of 20 years, Dr. Patricia Hart of Easton, CT and Stowe, VT, and his cherished daughter Kelly Blouin Powers of Bothwell, WA, and her husband Emile Blouin. Art is survived by his parents, Arthur Powers Sr of White Plains, NY and Evelyn Powers of Branchville, NJ, his sister Corrine Powers Barton also of Branchville, his brothers David Powers of Brewster, NY and Kenneth Powers of Vancouver, Canada, as well as a tight-knit family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Art was born in New Rochelle, NY on August 9th, 1960 and graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY. He worked with his father for many years in the family business, Design Sound of Portchester, NY and was the inventor, principal, and manufacturer of PlanterSpeakers based in Bridgeport, CT. Art spent many years in Portchester, NY and Westport, CT, and had recently moved to Easton, CT. His many interests included car and motorcycle racing, mountain biking, skiing, sculpting, and stand-up comedy. Art was a talented drummer and musician, playing in many bands over the years, including Flood and Hot Rubber Monkeys. He embraced the natural world, with a deep love for the mountains, woods, and beach. In spite of allergies, Art adored his dogs, cats, and goats. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, and the world will be more boring in his absence.
