I-95 Overnight Traffic Worsens as Beachside Avenue Overpass Construction Continues
I-95 Northbound has been an overnight traffic nightmare, as the work zone for the Beachside Avenue Bridge Replacement has slowed the usually calm midnight hour commute to a near standstill. Traffic was backed up for several miles near midnight Friday morning, with many vehicles detouring through Westport’s Route 1 and Greens Farms Road to avoid the traffic altogether. There’s no word yet on when the overnight lane closures will end. The project is expected to be completed in September.
