Westport Book Shops Celebrates First Storytime on Jesup Green
Contributed by The Westport Book ShopThe Westport Book Shop hosted their first author's event on the Jesup Green across from the shop today. Author Sivan Hong read to a group of children and adults outdoors in a park. Sivan is a local Westporter who authors and illustrates the children’s book series The Super Fun Day Book. This was the first reading of her book - Emily D. and the Fearful First Day. Her inspiring books focus on neurodiverse children, who overcome their challenges with perseverance and bravery. The theme of her books align perfectly with the mission of The Westport Book Shop - to provide employment opportunities for adults with disabilities! A craft table was set up for children to decorate back-to-school notebooks after the reading. Snacks were provided by Sweet P Bakery | The Porch and The Remarkable Theater who share the same mission!
