Westport Public Schools: COVID-19 Numbers Down

The Westport Public Schools announced that their cases and quarantines have gone down since last week, according to the Reopening Dashboard. As of yesterday they had 34 positive cases amongst students and staff, with 284 quarantined.

In the past week, the District saw 45 cases and over 400 quarantined - bumping their risk category from “Moderate Risk” to “High Risk” with the small influx of cases. Today’s dip was welcomed as parents and staff both discussed the reopening of Staples High School this coming Thursday to all students. According to the District’s data, 16 of the cases are all involving Staples High School students or staff members.
