Westport’s Henry Wynne Finishes Fifth at US Olympic Trials in Oregon; Runs Hard in Record Heat

With the final stages of the US Olympic Trials for Track & Field nearing the finish, Westport’s Henry Wynne was in Eugene, Oregon this weekend to race for a spot on Team USA. After a five hour delay due to record-high temperatures, according a Virginia sports journalist, Wynne finished last night’s race in fifth after running his 1500m with a time of 3:37.70 - just missing a chance at heading to Tokyo next month. Wynne graduated from Staples in 2013 and has gone on to compete around the country as a championship runner.
