171 Winters for the “Clear House” on Riverside Avenue

Built in 1851, the George Platt home sat high and safely above the Saugatuck river and the traffic of Riverside Avenue this morning. Also known as the Clear House, the home sits along a row of historic houses and structures that commemorate some of the original families of Westport as it celebrates today its survival of 171 Winter seasons in the community.
