One Arrested for DUI after April Car Accident

According to a Westport Police Department press release:

“On Tuesday April 21, 2020 at approximately 8:25pm, officers responded to the area of 30 Charles Street on a report of a two car motor vehicle accident. Minor injuries were reported at the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that both cars were traveling westbound on Charles Street when one vehicle struck the other from behind. The operator of the striking vehicle was identified as Jorge Sosa. In speaking with Sosa, he reportedly exhibited physical clues consistent with being under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Based on the investigation, a search warrant was sought and granted for toxicology records for Sosa. Upon execution of the search warrant, the results obtained showed him to have a blood alcohol content above the legal limit on the evening of the accident. Based on these results, an arrest warrant was subsequently sought and granted for Sosa.

On the afternoon of Sunday December 20, 2020, Sosa was taken into custody by members of the Norwalk Police Department in connection with this department’s active warrant. He was turned over to Westport Police for arrest processing. Per the warrant, he was charged with 14-227a Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs and 14-240 Following Too Closely. He was released on a written promise to appear. He is scheduled to be arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on the morning of Wednesday February 3, 2021.”
