Candlelight Concert will be December 19th as 80-Year Tradition Forges On

The Staples High School Music Department announced that the famous Candlelight Concert will still happen this year in a pre-recorded, live stream format. 2020 marks the 80th anniversary of the local holiday tradition, an event that started before the words “live stream” or “social distance” would be counted as foreign, or rude.

Access to the online event will be through staplesmusic.org

It was touch and go for a while, but the pre-recorded, live stream event for the 80th Annual Candlelight Concert will take place December 19 at 7:30pm! It's been a challenging year for our musicians but they are excited that their annual gift to the community will take place. In collaboration with and narrated by our own Dan Woog, repertoire includes such favorites as "Carol of the Bells," "Sleigh Ride" and "Winter Wonderland." Also included will be highlights of dynamic interviews with individuals associated with Candlelight over the past 80 years. Access your FREE viewing link starting Dec. 14 at 9:00AM!”
