Windsurfer Enjoying the Wind Chill off of Compo
Wilton resident Vin Marshall tests out a new sail as he windsurfs off of Compo Beach this afternoon. The air temperature was about 40 degrees with water temperatures around 50 degrees, but the 15-20 MPH wind gusts created a wind chill of nearly 32 degrees. It was that very wind that drew him to the beach with his board, sail, and wetsuit today. When asked if he was cold upon his landing on the beach, Marshall responded with “the suit keeps me warm, but my hands really take a beating.”
Building a Front Yard Ice Skating Rink while Continuing a Neighborhood Tradition
Bryn Reilly (l), Charles Nivaud, KHS 5th grader (c), and Anthony Loiacano (r) move a piece of wood into place to construct the Reilly Family’s front yard ice skating rink, located at their home on Wright Street. Each year the rink is constructed with the help of family and friends to continue its nearly 20 year tradition of welcoming neighborhood kids to skate throughout the Winter. According to the family, the rink needs about four days of 20 degree temperatures in order for the skating to begin for the 2020 season - giving local kids a good reason to look forward to freezing-cold days.

Since the COVID-19 crisis began, the long line can often be seen as customers seek contactless service.
