I-95 Accident Slows Traffic Northbound, North of Exit 17
First responders were dispatched just after 7:00 PM tonight to I-95 for the motor vehicle accident with injuries. No word on injuries or what caused the accident.
Norwalk I-95 Accident, Heavy Fog Slows Morning Commute
An accident on I-95 in Norwalk slowed this morning’s commute. Greens Farms Road, Route 1, and I-95 northbound were all bumper to bumper after the 7:00 O’clock hour. Heavy fog further hindered the drive. No word on injuries or cause of the I-95 accident.
The Usual 8:30 Northbound Traffic Strikes Again
With ongoing overnight construction at the former Beachside Avenue Overpass, northbound traffic was again backed up for miles as lanes closed around 8:30 PM.
I-95 Truck Accident Stalls Traffic on Highway & Town Streets; Hazardous Material Truck Dispatched
Firefighters pull the dislodged front bumper of a tractor trailer involved in an accident. Firefighters use oil absorbent on a leaking liquid. At around 2:00 PM today Westport firefighters responded to the I-95 in the southbound lanes, just south of Hales Road, for the reported tractor trailer accident with a possible fuel leak.
The accident shut down the right and center lanes and warranted the Fairfield County Hazardous Materials truck to respond to the scene. Heavy traffic from the incident resulted in a near shut down of I-95 southbound, with many motorists getting off at exit 18 to attempt their luck at taking the Westport streets. Greens Farms Road quickly slowed to a stop, with cars backing up from Bridge Street until Hillspoint Road.
No word on injuries, what caused the accident, or any confirmation on the hazardous material spilled.
