Moon Rise over the Newly Named Laddie Lawrence Track
After a community ceremony on Saturday, the Staples High School Track around the football field will forever be known as the Laddie Lawrence Track. The track was named after longtime Track & Field Coach “Laddie”, who has been involved in the sport in Westport since the 1960s. Laddie remains a coach and active member of the community’s athletics through his work at the high school and with local clubs.

I-95 Accident Slows Northbound Traffic Heading into Westport
A motor vehicle accident was reported at about 6:15 today in the northbound lanes of I-95, south of Westport’s Exit 17. No further information on injuries or cause of accident has been released.
Westport Wrecking Ball: 237 Greens Farms Road, Built in 1935
A demolition application was filed on April 23rd for the property at 237 Greens Farms Road. Built in 1935, the property sits on 2 acres and was purchased on May 17th by Fairfield’s Wakeman Brothers, LLC for $995,000. The home was formerly owned by the Costa family, dating back through the 1980s.
