An application to demolish the home at 2 Surf Road was filed with the Town of Westport, and the 180 day delay was waived by the Westport Historic District Commission during an April meeting - clearing the way for its demolition. The 6,951 square foot home sits on 0.65 of an acre of land and last sold in 2020 for $2.1 million. The property sits on Bermuda Lagoon’s eastern shoreline, with a private dock stretching from the back of the property.

One Sent to Hospital after Midnight Post Road East Accident
A car accident was reported just after midnight as rain continued throughout the community. The vehicle involved lost control and rolled over, striking a nearby utility pole on Post Road East, in front of Walgreens. The driver did not require extrication from the vehicle and was transported to a nearby hospital by Westport EMS. No information on what caused the accident or the extent of any injuries has been released.
