Greenwich Polo Club hosted the 2nd match in the East Coast Open on Sunday with Ellipse Polo defeating Gardenvale Polo Team and advancing to the Finals this Sunday, September 12. Hilario Ulloa, one of the top ranked players in professional polo was match MVP.
The Greenwich Polo Club is recognized as one of the elite high-goal polo venues in the Northeast, and is internationally recognized for its rosters of championship winning teams and players.

Superintendent: 4 New COVID-19 Cases in 2 Schools
Superintendent Thomas ScariceDear Westport Families and Staff,
As mentioned in our report this past Friday, we will report positive Covid-19 cases on a weekly basis unless additional reporting becomes necessary. Given the long weekend we felt it important to provide an update this evening.
We have 4 newly confirmed cases of Covid-19 from Saturday through today. The reports came from the following schools:
Greens Farms Elementary School - 2
Long Lots Elementary School - 2
Please remember that families are asked to report positive Covid-19 cases of students using our reporting voicemail or email. Please follow this link for more information on reporting.
Additionally, we want to remind families that students with pending Covid-19 tests should not return to school until receiving negative results. This approach is critical in helping us minimize the potential for transmission in our schools.

Rains from Ida Cause Propane Leak on Deletta Lane
Westport Fire DepartmentWestport firefighters were dispatched to a report of a leaking propane tank on Deletta Lane this afternoon. The initial dispatch was for Engine 4, Engine 6, Truck 1 and the Shift Commander.
Westport Engine 4 arrived and found a large inground propane tank on its side at a house under construction. Responding Hazmat technicians determined that the tank was full of propane and not actively leaking. Engine 4’s crew, with additional responding firefighters, deployed a protective hose line, metered the nearby occupancies and eliminated all nearby ignition sources. Eversource, Westport EMS and a propane contractor were called in to assist.
It was found that recent rainfall from Hurricane Ida caused the tank to roll on its side. The last fire department unit cleared the scene at 3:12 PM.
Westport COVID-19 Cases Up 6; State Positivity Rate 2.6%, Hospitalizations Down 2
The Westport Weston Health District reported 6 new COVID-19 cases for Westport over the long weekend. The State’s daily test positivity rate was down to 2.60%, and hospitalizations were down 2.
Westport total positive or probable cases: 1,956 cases.
Westport total COVID-19 Deaths: 31 deaths.
State Daily Test Positivity: 2.60% [down from 2.73%]
State Hospitalizations: 363 patients [-2]
