Please join me in supporting Jen Tooker and her running mate Andrea Moore for Westport Board of Selectmen. Jen’s management experience in both local government as well as the private sector make her qualified as the only candidate hailing this critical experience. She has the unique training and ability to provide sustained and meaningful leadership for Westport.
Jen’s tireless involvement in our community include her current role as Second Selectwoman, serving on Westport’s Board of Finance, Board of Education and Conservation Commission and 10 years of leadership positions in local non-profit organizations. Andrea too has deep ties to the community as current Vice-Chair of Westport’s Board of Finance along with other local board positions and years of substantial volunteer service.
As an empty nester who has lived in Westport for 25 years, I want to ensure our town’s viability for future generations. Jen Tooker has a proven track record in contributing to the excellence of our schools, maintaining our property values and securing public safety. I know Jen and Andrea will continue to serve Westport as Selectwomen with the same passion they exhibit in all of their endeavors.

Westport COVID-19 Cases Up 2; State Hospitalizations Dip Below 200 Patients
The Westport-Weston Health District reported 2 COVID-19 case for Westport over the past 24 hours. The State’s daily test positivity rate was down to 1.62% while hospitalizations were down 8, bringing the total hospitalized patients in the State below 200 for the first time in months.
Westport total positive or probable cases: 2,135 cases.
Westport total COVID-19 Deaths: 32 deaths.
State Daily Test Positivity: 1.62% [down from 2.13%]
State Hospitalizations: 194 patients [-8]
Brilliant Autumn Evening after Rainy Days
The sun set the autumn leaves ablaze this evening for the historic trees at Saugatuck Congregational Church. The warm sight was welcomed by passersby after two days of heavy rains and dark skies.
Children's Halloween Parade Re-scheduled For Thursday
Due to the rain, the parade has been rescheduled to Thursday October 28th. The parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. and move up Main Street, turn right on Avery Place and then left onto Myrtle Avenue. Children may trick or treat along Main Street and in front of Town Hall where staff will be giving out candy, and then may meet on the Green at 4:00 p.m. for refreshments, small gifts and the entertainment of DJ Kenny Michaels.
