Westport COVID-19 Cases Up 114 over Holiday Weekend; State Positivity, Hospitalizations Up
The Westport-Weston Health District and the State Department of Public Health reported 114 new COVID-19 cases for Westport since Thursday, December 23rd. The State’s daily test positivity rate was up to 10.71% while hospitalizations were up 88 patients, totaling 925 patients across the State.
Westport total positive or probable cases: 2,584 cases.
Westport total COVID-19 Deaths: 32 deaths.
State Daily Test Positivity: 10.71% [up from 9.02%]

Sisters Liana & Elisia share some love on Christmas Eve
On their Christmas Eve visit to Petco on the Post Rd. to get presents for their kitty, 5 year old Elisia (R), and her sister Liana (L), age 9 of Westport became enthralled with 5 month old siblings Charli & Billie and almost 2 year old Kelly Clarkson, who are hoping for their new families to come and adopt them into their forever homes. They played with these beautiful and quite energetic kittens and cat for more than 20 minutes and it was hard to tell who was having more fun, the girls or their new friends.
All of these beautiful felines, and many more are available for adoption from T.A.I.L.S., the Alliance In Limiting Strays which is an all volunteer, non-profit organization which provides spay/neuter assistance to low-Income individuals, operates a TNR (Trap, neuter, release) program to reduce the number of feral kittens born each year and of course, assists in finding forever homes for cats who are in need. As an all volunteer organization with a very limited budget, all donations are welcome and every dollar is 100% devoted to their programs.
